Moving from Ordinary to Extraordinary

February 20, 2009

If you or someone you know is thinking of going to college, then you shouldn’t miss this interview. With high school comes a new set of challenges. And in our current economic state, finding private loans or state funding for college has become more difficult. So what’s next? Scholarships. Dr. Sharnnia Artis, the author of Moving from Ordinary to Extraordinary: The Teen's Guide to High School Success, secured over $100,000 in scholarships to continue her education. In her book, as well as in this Author Talk interview, Artis discusses strategies to preparing for college and scholarships.

Artis, a consultant who earned her doctorate in engineering, has always been dedicated to being extraordinaire. Whether it was graduating in the top 1 percent of her high school class, with a 4.2 GPA, or organizing a foundation in college that offered free seminars and mentoring to high school students, Artis knew the importance of standing out.  During this interview, Artis shares her Four-D philosophy and gives tips on how it can form the basis of transforming anyone from being ordinary to extraordinary.
