About the Book

ToTo’s story is a legacy of smiles—a sad beginning of a little lost dog who had so much love to give. I had a chance to stop on a road trip that led me on a mission to share the smiles and happiness he left in my life. Thanks to ToTo, two more hearts came together—McKenzie Aberdeen and Kandi Ann. They moved into my life, and they make children of all ages smile. They keep me smiling and having fun! They love riding in ToTo’s wagon and having picnics in the park. They do tricks, and tricks, and even more tricks!

About the Author

Joyce Knowles is a lifelong dog rescuer. She grew up in North Stafford, Virginia, where she lived on a small farm. One day when she was five years old she and her mom walked down a short country road to their mailbox. They were greeted by a large Chow Chow. Joyce immediately told him, "If you don't have a home; come home with me." He did! She not only rescued Brownie the large Chow Chow and ToTo the small Scottish Terrier. There have been too many dogs and a number of cats to know exactly how many she has saved. She rescued BooBoo and smiling Scarlet from two different shelters. She rescued Charcoal and her little tiny puppy when walking in the park one day. She scooped them up and took them home with her. Gypsy was a stray kitty she found and adopted. Kriss Kringle and Krystal Delight showed up at her home and moved in her house and heart. Monkey and Sammy moved in with Joyce when her mom and dad moved to Heaven. Angel and Callie were adopted as tiny puppies! Joyce is an animal lover; she was driving one day and a very large turtle was in the road. She stopped to protect him. Two very nice people stopped and helped her lift it out of the road. She has stopped many times to get small turtles out of the road. Every morning she and McKenzie and Kandi Ann feed the birds. Even squirrels and chipmunks come close to her. McKenzie and Kandi Ann love visiting their furry and feathered friends with Joyce at the park. McKenzie Aberdeen and Kandi Ann and Krystal Delight make Joyce smile!
