About the Book

A young zebra named Charlie and his best friend, Jack the red bird, have always lived quietly at the Philadelphia Zoo, until the day that the Lady with the awesome hat and her dog came to visit. Charlie received a special “gift” from the lady and her dog, mostly from her dog. Charlie had always dreamed of become a leader, but was always told that zebras were shy and skittish, not good qualities for a leader. It took an awesome hat, a good friend, and an adventure in Philadelphia to show Charlie that even a zebra can be a leader.

About the Author

Ann Luebbert, the lady with the awesome hat, is an aspiring artist and writer who takes the train to and from the city to her job. While most of her fellow travelers play with their smart phones, Ann draws silly alphabet animals, which lead her to Charlie and Jack, the main characters of this book.
