Nick and O-Zone were now orbiting the planet after putting distance between themselves and the Technoid interceptors. O-Zone switched the knob to atmosphere. There was a mechanical whirring sound as large wings extended from the side of the ship. O-Zone explained that the wings helped the Atlas float better in the planet’s atmosphere and allowed them to steer the ship.
Clunk! “Uh-oh!” said O-Zone as he jumped out of his seat and headed toward the rear of the ship. “The air brake is stuck. Nick, grab the joystick on your right and fly the ship down toward the surface of the planet.”
“I can’t fly this thing!”
“Yes, you can. We’re clear of the space junk. Trust your instincts!”
Nick had no choice when O-Zone disappeared behind him to fix the problem. He kept the ship aimed directly at the planet as the spacecraft burned through the atmosphere. At first, Nick found it easy to control, but the ship shook violently as it kept falling. The ship rocked from side to side as Nick struggled to keep the joystick from snapping out of his hands. It got more and more difficult as they gathered speed and plunged steadily toward solid ground. What had looked like splashes of color on the planet’s surface were now large mountains, lakes, and plains. Suddenly, the ship went out of control. It spun wildly, plummeting toward the surface.

Desperate for help, the prince of Caldaris asks Nick and O-Zone to travel aboard a powerful spaceship to his planet to investigate the threat and hopefully save the planet and its people from extinction. After enlisting help from a young adventurer and her exotic horse, Nick and O-Zone bravely face the threat head-on—all while dealing with spaceship malfunctions, dodging asteroids, and battling evil aliens. In this exciting adventure, a young Protector and his robot friend embark on a dangerous journey through space to fight an intergalactic battle and stop a beast of unimaginable power before it destroys the universe and all its inhabitants forever.
