About the Author

Reverend Erma J. Coburn, is a native of Oklahoma, a powerful, Holy Ghost-filled missionary who has traveled throughout the world spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of her travels include several countries within the continent of Africa, Caribbean, Israel (Holy Land), Austria and Spain.

Reverend Coburn is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. While working in the church and during missionary work throughout the State of North Carolina, she received her ministerial license from Freewill Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

After the loss of her husband, Sgt. Albert V. Coburn, she relocated back to Oklahoma and continued her education earning the Bachelor’s of Science in Theology at the Oklahoma School of Religion at Langston University.

She later returned to Langston, University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Her spiritual calling and revelation coupled with the gift and ability to teach, catapulted her into a traveling evangelism ministry. She pursued graduate studies at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

She taught in the Oklahoma City Public School System and retired after 25 years of service. Though retired, she is continuously sought to teach in the school system, churches, and serve on workshop panels for local, state and national religious conventions.

Reverend Coburn and Mrs. Donna Hall, her late sister, along with other Christian warriors established the Sapulpa City Wide Prayer Band in Sapulpa whose “Annual Day of Prayer” has been in existence for over 30 years.

Reverend Coburn is an instructor in the Oklahoma Baptist Convention and the East Zion District Association. She is an active member of the Fairview Baptist Church, where Reverend Dr. John A. Reed, Jr. is Pastor. She has two children, three grandchildren and four great-grand children. She resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
