this true story herein a boy named Anthony Moore, who from a young age and well into adulthood tried to define himself, by seeking the true meaning of his tears. A story of physical depravity, mental torture and child abuse; born in 1979 he was a twin at birth from Antoine Moore a carpenter and Mary Moore an elementary school teacher. Named by his father and brother (Alan) was named by his mother; his parents were considered middle class and had a total of 5 children, all boys! the mother and 3 of the boys died due to voodoo, Tony and Alan fought for their lives only Tony gained victory. Tony's father’s grief was short lived. He remarried to Annie six months after the death of his wife, Annie who was a church goer at first later became a voodoo witch; she tried many but unsuccessful attend to kill Tony while Tony was actively guarded by angels from heaven, however she did manage to break Tony morally, physically, and mentally although Tony survived all the tortures. Tony then got a big break when he left haiti to joined his father in United states, knowing his abuse has stopped so he thought, but they continued with his father at the end Tony did the unthinkable.

About the Book
When Anthony Moore is born in Haiti in 1979, he finds himself at a disadvantage to even his own twin, who everyone thinks is cuter because of his lighter skin. Things don’t get any better; little Tony’s mother dies when he’s two years old. Shortly after, Tony’s twin dies, and people begin to whisper that maybe he’s somehow to blame. In a culture dominated by voodoo, people think little Tony could have used supernatural powers to kill his own twin out of jealousy. When Tony’s father remarries, his stepmother treats him like an outsider and an outcast. Shedding tears becomes a regular part of life. Things seem to take a turn for the better when Tony moves to the United States with his father, but he must still contend with his evil stepmother as well as the competing messages he gets from Christianity and voodoo traditions. Join Tony as he comes of age and seeks to overcome abuse, confusion and cultural differences so he can move beyond The Length of Tears.
About the Author
Alex Morency, a native of Port de Paix, Haiti, moved to the United States in search of a better life. He graduated from Strayer University and traveled throughout the country and Canada as a truck driver. An active church member, he has two sons and lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
