Sean’s Story

Sean went through a lot of test within the first year of life. Unfortunately we didn’t get a lot of answers to his health issues.

The Doctor’s were still saying that Sean was Developmentally Delayed with absolutely no explanation. We were left with more questions and very disappointed in the team of Doctors who were supposed to be help us with all of these unexplained health issues. As the years went by we had been to numerous Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists who tried and failed to repair Sean’s ears.

He just kept having recurring ear infections. The Dental Team just didn’t know what to do to repair Sean’s Soft Cleft Palate or even how to deal with teeth that were just a mess from the Syndrome.

About the Author

My love for writing began at the early age of 10. I planned on writing about the people I knew even at that age but struggled with a story line.

As the years went by and I got married a second time and as I found out that I was pregnant I knew that I had a story to tell and that was the very day that Sean was born.

Sean's health issues are a major part of our lives and we do everything that we can to see that he gets the Education and the Health care the he needs. He has overcome most of the issues and he will be dealing with Soft Cleft Palate and Speech issues for the rest of his life. Sean is using Sign Language when he struggles with using his words and Mom and Dad are learning to use Sign Language as well.

I'm a native Floridian and we live in Fort Myers. Besides writing, I'm a licensed Esthetician, (Skin Care Tech) Home Health Aide, and before that I worked for my Mother at Parsons Day Care with 10 years experience. LaBelle, Florida is my home town.
