Beyond the Darkness

“Now this is the message we have heard from Him And proclaim to you God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1: 5) We are all called by God to share with everyone the good news of His unconditional love. This book is a record of the experiences in my life which have led me out of my own darkness and ignorance into the nourishing light of God’s love. Because I now walk in God’s light, I can plainly see the pain and sufferings of others, as they too, struggle on their own journey through life. Consequently, I’m moved by compassion to share my story hoping that somehow God’s unconditional love will reach out and touch the hearts of all who read this book so that they too may also see, beyond their own struggles and darkness. My life changed gradually, bit by bit, after I experienced God’s love through a death-like occurrence when Jesus appeared to me. That phenomenal experience inspired me to move in a new direction with a positive approach to life. Since that memorable night more than forty plus years ago, Jesus, has been with me every step of the way; through good and bad times. Before I entered into His light, however, I was locked in a cold, dark place; filled with resentment, hatred and self-pity. I felt lost, alone, and abandoned by God. Life for me did seem, “like an endless journey in a vast wilderness of darkness.” Jesus, nonetheless, has opened my eyes to the truth. Now I know that beyond the darkness of life’s drudgery, there is a beautiful garden within the depths of every human soul. And all who enter into that garden is transformed by God’s light. For that’s where God lives. That place is referred to by Jesus as, “God’s Kingdom Within.” In order to find that heavenly place, we must follow Jesus, for He is the Pure Light of God. His light, is only light that can lead us there. Jesus is the reason and purpose for this book. I would have nothing of any value to write about, had it not been for Jesus coming into my life. The changes that took place in me were slow, and sometimes very painful. It was a growing process; which is never easy. I had to grow in understanding of myself, the meaning of life and the value of God’s Word, in the Holy Scriptures. Gradually, but surely, my life began to change; as Jesus became my constant companion. As I walked with Jesus, through daily prayer and meditation, He began to teach me about myself and “God’s Kingdom.” Now He has commissioned me, to share with the world all He has shown and taught me; through my daily experiences…The writing of this book is by far the most difficult task I have ever had to accomplish. You will understand why after reading the complete book. Yet, I have been faithful to His commend. It has taken me over forty years to put it all together. The reason for the delay is explained in full detail in the epilogue.
