About the Author

I spent a good deal of time researching this book, with the notion of having a woman who was totally destitute and totally out of control of her own life manage to come to terms with a way of surviving. Yes, she finds some luck in her situation. However, she also manages to make the very best she can of a bad situation. I love romances, but I more often love romances with stong women. I think Jessalyn is a strong woman who has character and integrity and who is ready to face various, and sometimes vicious, challenges. I currently live in Texas, and I am a Southerner by birth and by choice. I raised a large family, I have been a teacher all of my professional life, and I believe sincerely in the notion of Carpe Diem!
