About the Author

Dr. Robert Girod received a Ph.D. in Criminology and Public Administration from the Union Institute and University and a post-doctoral certificate in Leadership from Harvard University. He is currently pursuing a J.D. at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He has also earned an M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration, a B.G.S. in Social and Behavioral Science, a B.A. in Sociology, and an A.S. in Criminal justice, as well as a technical diploma in Forensic Science.

Dr. Girod has served in law enforcement for almost thirty years with the Fort Wayne Police Department, U. S. Marshals Service, Indianapolis Police Department, Indiana University Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Indiana Department of Insurance, and Wells County Prosecutors Office.

He has also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command and as a Major in the Indiana Guard Reserve. He has been a professor at seven universities, including Indiana University and Boston University. Dr. Girod is also the author of Profiling the Criminal Mind.
