Sacred Cave is the first book in an extraordinary new adventure series set 5,000 years ago in the lush Southeast. Five generations of mystical Algonquian Indian women lead their people into a changing world dominated by wildly destructive forces. They know the "power of dreams" and use this mystical pathway to take their tribe to safety time and time again.

Encounter an astonishing cast of unforgettable characters that learn to run with wolves, make masks, build immense mounds, communicate with the Spirit World, and make beautiful music.

Experience raw, natural passions, and ancient puberty rites and rituals. Survive an extraordinary alligator hunt in the mystical Okefenokee Swamp, and return again to the sanctuary of the Sacred Cave, the womb of Mother Earth, where the People are safe. Explore vivid shamanic journeys deep within the Crystal Cave, where the tribal shamans go to learn the future and discover new rituals.

shadow of the earth obscures a full Snow Moon at mid-winter. t i n k l e ~ faint bell chimes slippery with wet snow sounding in night wind. Haiku is a very old, very short form of poetry. Each haiku writer seeks a certain union with nature, and empathy with a brief observation. A good haiku is like a quicksilver impression of freshness filled with a certain insight. Haiku means beginning... Feel the poetic power of the moment! sundown, ebb tide, bright mirror of the sea blurs into night... almost full moon pulling in the silver tide capped with froth. The gift of haiku is its brevity and simplicity expressed in 17 or fewer syllables. The discipline of haiku teaches us to see more clearly the subtle things in nature. The practice of haiku tunes us in to a finer awareness of our surroundings. The passion of haiku awakens new dimensions of creativity in each poet. The beauty of haiku lies in presentation and sharing an "ah ha" moment. Teaching and writing haiku open many creative possibilities.
