Interlude. You are not a damsel in distress, You’re simply a woman in love With someone who does not value your worth. There is no fairytale ending in this story sweetheart. Turn the page, save yourself. You can do it. - Cinderella, who? When they ask you why I left Make sure you tell them the truth. That I tried so hard, but kept hitting the brick walls that guarded your heart. That I couldn't take one more day Of being tossed aside like an old pair of shoes. That I loved you, but it wasn't enough. That I decided to be selfish and put myself first. Make sure you tell them that you lost the best part of your life. And I won’t be there waiting this time. - Tell them. Maybe you should have patent and trademarked your heart. Because falling in love with you was the biggest Inspiration for my work. The good. The bad. The in between. I don’t know how else to tell you what you mean to me. So I will do it in the most public way possible, so others can know that there is a love out there for them… That will make them feel the way I do when I am with you. - Copy Rights to your Heart. I don't want to be the one, When you're sad and all alone. I don't want to be the place, To turn to when no one's home. All I ever wanted, Was a little of your time. All I ever, truly, wanted, Was for you to be mine. - Haunted Wants Driving down Main Street and Memory Lane, It’s funny how everything looks just the same. Constellations whisper their stories in the sky, But my heart sings the story of you and I. There are miles of memories on these star-lit roads, Miles of, “How did our love grow so cold?” A hundred places for me to reminisce, All those fairy-tale nights that I now miss. - Memory Lane To live without uncertainty Is to live life with regret, For you’re only truly living When your fears are being met. So smile at each challenge, And laugh at each mistake, Your successes will be measured, By the many chances you take. - No Regrets

The Closet Poets’ Interlude brings you an authentically transparent, heartbreaking, and empowering look at what it is like to be young and in love while still trying to find an individual identity in the process. Author’s PN and AM take you along their own journeys of self-discovery, self-worth, and the illusion of love they had to endure to get there. The words on these pages describe the pain and honesty of being wrapped in love in a way that makes you feel like they know exactly what you are going through. Included as well are poems that are inspiring and liberating versions of themselves, overcoming their trials, and finally accepting that they deserve to be loved the right way. About the Author
Paola Nicole, a native California girl wrapped in a wanderlust spirit, was an introvert when it came to her feelings and turned to her pen and journals at a very young age. Even now at the age of 26, she is still trying to find her path and voice in life. Alisha May is a military-brat, turned Utah transplant, trying to navigate this crazy world one day at a time. She has two amazing kids that make life more fun, and she hopes that they will always be able find their voice and express themselves. At 28, she is just now learning to share that inner voice. After discovering a connection and friendship, PN decided to collaborate with co-author AM to bring you this collection of poetry that is the conjoined makings of their bare souls.
