O' Peniel is simply written from the viewpoint of Rhyah, an excited 9 year old girl who's about to become another year older. She's a curious person by nature. She sees the world typically from her own perspectives and presents her accounts in a realistic, but often, comical fashion. One day, Rhyah lets her curiosity get the best of her. Then, she comes to grip with her own conscious, but not before she unveils what her own secret actually is; one that has caused great confusion. The seasonal setting is present day- beginning late summer and ending in the fall. The physical setting is a town in Louisiana. But mainly the setting centers around a small church in the country, not far from the town where Rhyah lives. You may find yourself directly relating to the words and thoughts of Rhyah. Or, you may have experienced some of theses 'everyday issues" as told through Rhyah's eyes.

About the Book
In ‘O’ Peniel, Behind the Fans’, people use hand fans at church to cover up their indescretions. The preacher, himself, seems to always go out of his way to discover any hidden secrets about people around town. And he has no problem blatantly exposing these secrets directly to that person; while yet still letting others know he knows of those indiscretions in his unsympathetic sermons. He even unexpectedly preached about himself in one of his sermons. But yet, he’s still so quick to point out other people’s wrongdoings. This makes you wonder if he’s unblemished, as well. One person, though, seems to have figured that out early on, but it’s not Rhyah. Rhyah, the young girl portrayed as the book’s witty narrator, demonstrates that life is full of mishaps and issues and that they are simply a part of life. Thus, we all make mistakes! She, too, has created a problematic secret of her own. One, of which she has hid for several months. It’s also one, which causes immense frustration and shame upon people. But, she makes a grand revision to her issue by directly confronting ‘it’; allowing everyone to know that things like this may walk up on us, but they do not have to overtake our lives. Additionally, the book’s theme is given from a (somewhat) biblical perspective that seems to enhance the value of it.
About the Author
Kimberly Williams, the author of O’PENIEL, Behind the Fans, was born in Port Arthur, Texas. She grew up in Austin, Texas and attended high school there. In 1988, she earned her B.A. Degree in Consumer Sciences and Merchandising with a Minor in Sociology at the University of Houston. In 2011, she earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice whereas she graduated with a 3.94 GPA (Dean’s List) from Virginia College-Online. Most of her adult life has been spent living in Houston, Texas. She did, however, temporarily reside in Lafayette, Louisiana, but relocated back to Houston. Kimberly has 2 young, adult children whose names gently appear in the book and are both pictured on the back cover. She teaches at a public school within a district in the Houston area. Her passions include traveling, visiting cultural sites and museums when time permits. She also enjoys creative writing and being a part time online, adult instructor. Kimberly will soon begin the manuscript for her next book.
