CLÉO est un conte, qui s’inscrit en décalé dans la représentation que l’on se fait généralement du conte traditionnel. Il est un conte philosophique, qui entraîne le lecteur, le narrateur et l’auditeur dans les sinuosités d’un récit où se côtoient : l’imaginaire, l’esthétique littéraire et l’art poétique, pour mieux servir de cadre d’expression et de transmission aux différents messages que véhicule le personnage dans sa longue quête... About the Author
Carmelle St.Gerard-Lopez is Haitian and she has been living in the US since 2004. She's gone from New Orleans to New York, teaching French to international students and adults. After Katrina, she has to move to New York. Carmelle St.Gerard-Lopez is a psychologist/teacher and author publisher. In addition to that, she has been writing several plays and directing the stage for must of them. For example: ENTREES-SORTIES/ IN AND OUT (Producers' Club Theatre, Manhattan, February 2009 and AINSI SOIT-IL, York College, Queens, April 2010) CLEO represents one of hers unpublised Tales from the "TALES FOR ADULTS' COLLECTION." . Its read extract version released on DVD, has been amazingly presented by Dr. Clara Guila Kessous (Havard University). Cléo is a tale that departs from the traditional genre of storytelling. Its philosophical tone results in a fusion of imagination, literary aesthetics and poetry where reader, narrator, and listener alike are drawn into an intricate narrative web. It also provides an ideal framework for the expression and transmission of the various messages symbolized by the character’s quest: “In every household of every homeland Everywhere in the world There lives a Cléo that remains silent.”
