About the Book

The Little Book of Big Fun Facts is a little book full of big fun facts for the whole family, but not babies, unless they’re genius babies who know how to read. Learn fascinating, humorous, and mostly pointless nuggets of information with which to amaze and/or bore your friends, family, co-workers and complete strangers.

Did you know that the same person voiced Cookie Monster, Yoda and Miss Piggy?

Did you know that in 1847 Philipp Semmelweis lowered the mortality rate during childbirth by 10% by having doctors wash their hands?

Or that the University of Oxford was created before the Aztec Empire?

Well if you didn’t before, you do now. And there’s more where that came from inside!

About the Author

Lowell R. Torres fell in love with writing at the age of thirteen after being given a writing assignment in his eighth grade English class. Writing started as an outlet of escape from life in the Dorie Miller Housing Projects of Gary, Indiana; a life that left a lot to be desired in the mid-1990s, in a city just beginning its decade-long run as "Murder Capital of the US." What started as an outlet soon evolved into full-blown interest.

In the twenty years since then he has completed over a dozen short stories, several novellas, and is at work on his first novel.

He attended college at Indiana State University and became immersed in the creative writing program, where he also discovered the joy of creating and editing anthologies that allow writers to showcase their talents. His two anthology series, Hoosier Writers (2011 & 2012) and Zombies? Zombies! (2013), are the results so far of that passion, with more to come.
