The Righteous and the Wicked is a romantic historical novel. It is woven around many actual events with fictitious main characters. The supporting cast is of famous and infamous historical persons. There is an awareness of the gloom, the dispair, the betrayal and hope of people in their daily battle for survival.
This story covers the lives of seven dissimilar people. We follow them through high level intrigue, the horror of war and genocide. There are interludes of compassion; there is hate, love, sex and personal torment.
The reccuring theme throughout the book is Hitler's obsession in eliminating Jews and Untermenschen. this obsession cost him the war. More than a million men were committed to the genocide as well as valuable industrial production. Jews were an important component in Germany's industrial and financial sector. They were the mainstay of Poland's textile industry.
The Righteous and the Wicked is an inspiring knowledgeable well researched book covering many barely known World War II incidents. It aptly demonstrates the fortitude of righteous people under difficult circumstances.
About the Author
Will Garelick started writing while still at Spring Valley, N.Y. High School and the following years covering sports for the daily Rockland Journal-News and the weekly Rockland Leader. During WWII he held a high supervisory position building destroyer escorts. Later years were spent as a professional photographer, lighting designer, Housing Consultant and Managing Agent. Now a nonagenarian, at 92, he still writes, lectures on cruise ships, at organizations and is Vice Chairperson on his City's Housing Authority.
