It hit Sarah like a runaway elephant. Nothing she had ever been involved with had been so vile. No one but Satan himself could be directly responsible for this act. She was sure somehow the evil one had breached the gates of hell. And found his way to Chicago, to this perfect neighborhood, to this beautiful house, to this exquisite room, to this poor soul. She looked down at the report passed to her from the on scene M.E. He passed it from his bag position. Sarah stood above the massive blood clot that was the body. The victim had been dead at least twenty-four hours. It was hard to determine the cause of death. There were no stab wounds, bullet holes, strangulation marks. So perhaps, poison, but very doubtful. More over it was pain. Pain the heart couldn’t take. Pain the brain never experienced or could comprehend so it just shutdown. Never in her darkest dreams could she imagine. But there it was. The skin of another human being hanging from the ceiling. It was stretched out wide like the skin of a beaver being tanned. The sky roof provided ample sunlight for the tanning process. The skin was thin, almost translucent. Below the skin laid the body. Blood had congealed on the skinless portion. It was a gelatinous black pile of rotting flesh.

Rachel traced what she thought was a figure down the slit to the floor. The tip of a boot was protruding from underneath the wool curtain. The tip of a boot that wasn't hers. The Ripper could see the fear on her face. It was so apparent. The hair literally stood up on the back of her neck. Fear stood between Rachel and the curtains. Nothing stood between her and the Ripper. She started to back away.

Who am I? I am you. All that you are is within me. And all that I am is within you. I breathe the same air as you. Walk under the same sky as you. I run like you, hide like you. I even cry like you. When death comes I will die like you. We are the same. We pray to the same God, but with different names. I wake in the morning and go to work beside you. I laugh when it's funny. I smile when I'm happy. And I frown when I'm sad. I sit at home looking out on to the world or talking to God. Looking for a better day. Wishing for a better way. I fall into a book and let my mind go. I love the thought of writing. I love entertaining with words. I feel that when I am writing it sets me free. And I like to share that freedom with anyone who likes to read. I consider this my first novel and I would love to say I enjoyed every moment of writing it but I didn't. However I love the outcome and I hope you do as well. By this being my first novel I wanted it to be different from all the other books that I've read. I believe that I've accomplished that through the changes that take place with the tenses as well as the subtly way the shock and awe chapters unfold. Currently I reside in the city of Chicago. Without a doubt the greatest city on the planet. Out of all the cities on the planet that I have been to. And I have been to alot. I have a love hate relationship with Chicago. But I'll keep that between me and the city. I am Teco
