About the Book

Adventures of Nebraska Wade by Elaine North is the story of an elegant black dressmaker, who travels throughout the Wild West. This novel is historical, eloquent, hilarious and has action packed brawls, duels and shootouts. It depicts dynamic free black people in the western territories. Adventures of Nebraska Wade is Book One of a cowboy trilogy. In Travels in the Western Territories, Book Two, Nebraska searches throughout the Wild West for her husband, nearly dies in the wilderness with the Indians trying to get to Denver, and meets a handsome rascally trickster black cowboy, who is the fastest gun in Arizona Territory. In Book Three, A Lady in the West, the elegant dressmaker travels to San Francisco and Chicago, and visits Paris in the 1880s.

About the Author

Elaine North is the author of Election 2000 Enchantment. She also wrote Adventures of Nebraska Wade, Book One of a cowboy trilogy about an elegant black dressmaker who travels throughout the Wild West. North was an acclaimed newspaper photojournalist, traveled throughout the world, and earned her history degree from the University of Illinois.
