About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHORS’ AND THEIR OBJECTIVES ABOUT WOMEN AND MEN is written to convey our thoughts and ideas for future relationships between couples, dating or married. As a couple married for 42-years since our high school courtship, we firmly believe women and men (as well as adolescent girls and boys) can build more powerful relationships with one another. Claiming no clairvoyance or prophecy, we fervently hope and pray ABOUT WOMEN AND MEN will help jump-start the very individual process of stronger one-to-one relationships during the first century of the 3rd millennium. We believe women and men, of all religious beliefs and worldwide social customs can, during the next 100-years, evolve a common sense vision for forming and keeping values of equality in life’s most important relationship. The authors base their fervent wishes for future generations on two foundations of knowledge. We have personally evaluated the joy of our own lives, including 47-years together, first in friendship and then in a loving and monogamous marriage. We also evaluated our lifelong interest in history, with its very recent expansion in scientifically documented knowledge about past and present relationships between women and men. We studied many interactive sciences of archaeology, paleontology, genetics, linguistics, anthropology, sociology, ethnology, molecular biology, theology, genealogy, sexology and history to enhance our understanding. Sciences enlighten all as they lift the veil of conjecture, using widely varying cross-tested information in a scientific crucible for reliably understanding what truly happened to relationships between women and men. We observed a continuation of the system of patriarchy in our childhood during the great depression and World War II. We were both exposed to the impacts of patriarchal values, weathering that emotional storm of dual standards differently, until finding one another at 16-years of age. Now, after a lifelong friendship, we still know of and have to deal with patriarchal scars remaining from youth. We can look back on our lives together as a small part of history. We’ve observed and learned during our relationship including courtship, marriage, parenting, and grand-parenting, that vast opportunities exist for rapidly evolving much stronger relationships between women and men as well as girls and boys. With humility, we desire to share that knowledge with others. It’s been our good fortune to live our lives together through the most exciting half-century since the beginning of time. It’s been a half-century of strife and change but with far less war and killing than the prior half-century or the half-century before that. We’ve had the good fortune to witness many of patriarchy’s walls crumble, but far too many remain intact both at work and in homes. We’ve witnessed the beginning of the end for patriarchy; with vast changes in its subjugation of women and debilitation of men. We write to drive nails into the coffin of Patriarchal Values in relationships between couples, hoping to make them extinct during the first 100-years of the 3rd millennium.
