About the Book
ShamanSong is an eclectic tour through many key elements of life, travel, cancer, and healing wrapped in poetry. More than 130 new poems grace these pages along with almost 50 haiku, which examine myriad aspects of dealing with cancer, death, life, nature, and world travel. Dream work and shamanic travel take the reader ever deeper into the mysterious unknown with mystical poems gained from these otherworldly experiences. The book is segmented into six major areas of keen interest, including "music" and "cancer". Fine pen & ink illustrations companion a few particular poems providing a sense of ceremony and appreciation for the creative journey.
About the Author
E. Barrie Kavasch is a gifted poet/author/illustrator with more than 26 books in print; this is her fourth book of poetry. She teaches poetry and prose writing in various workshops, classes, and retreat centers across the country to a wide variety of audiences. A good deal of her focus is on dreams, shamanic journeywork, healing, and nature. She is curator of The Writer?s Voice and Power Hour at ESCAPE To The Arts, a fine multicultural campus for the arts and humanities in the center of Danbury, CT. Much of her work is devoted to healing and awareness. Barrie is also a Reiki Master, Dream Coach, and Shamanic Guide. She celebrates life as a stage four breast cancer survivor, and teaches a regular weekly class in healing Hatha Yoga. She lives a busy life in Kent, CT where she celebrates nature, her grown children, and four grandchildren.
